Think circular together with Swarovski
Key aspects of sustainable consumption and production are the reuse or repurposing of old materials to contribute to a circular economy. Together with Swarovski you will develop novel approaches to incentivize and conduct circular approaches (repair, re-use, refurbish/repurpose, recycle) that will help consumers and Swarovski to collectively drive a more sustainable jewelry industry.

Timeline:
- 20th May 2021
- 1st June 2021
- 15th June 2021
- 24th June 2021
Calling the Finalists: 12th July 2021
Here the best teams will be announced, which will enter the elaboration phase and thus also the final of the Innovation2030 Challenge. Two teams per Use Case will enter the elaboration phase after the respective companies have selected them.
In this phase, the finalists will be invited to join one of the virtual briefing meetings, which will take place between 12th and 18th July. The Briefings serve to prepare the teams for the (virtual) Bootcamp and the (virtual) Pitch-Event.
(Virtual) Bootcamp: 23rd July 2021
The best teams will be invited to a digital bootcamp where they can further develop their ideas and approaches together with representatives from politics, business, and science, receive new input and ask questions in order to gain a deeper insight into the problem and potential solutions.
For the best possible experience and the greatest added value, the Bootcamp combines networking sessions between all parties, different workshops on specific topics and coaching sessions between the final teams, the representatives of each use case and company, IT coaches from Bechtle, the largest IT system house in Germany, innovation coaches from Impact Week, a non-profit program that fosters innovation, entrepreneurship, and intercultural exchange through Design Thinking, and selected business coaches from ekipa.
Elaboration Phase: 26th July – 05th September 2021
With the help of the input from the bootcamp and the new knowledge that will be acquired up to then, you can now develop and improve your idea. For this purpose, all finalists will receive a specific milestone plan provided by the use case giver and ekipa.
The project partners individual and the coaching partners from Impact Week (Business) and Bechtle (Technical) will provide support to the participating teams through this phase. The goal of the elaboration phase is to work out your solution for the final event, but also for the following publication. Thus, you will not have to expect a great deal of additional work for the publication.
(Virtual) Final Event: 8th September 2021
The challenge is concluded with the final event. On this day, the finalists will pitch their solutions in front of a jury of high-ranking representatives from business, science, and politics. Teams will have the opportunity to present their solutions and answer questions in front of a jury and a larger audience. In addition to the pitches, the event will also feature keynote speeches by innovation experts.
Also, the winners of the challenge will be selected and honoured on this day. There will be one winning team per use case which is going to be awarded 2.500€ prize money each. Finally, in order to honour all the effort and encourage interdisciplinary exchange, an awards ceremony followed by a digital “get-together“ are planned.
Publication: October 2021
To stimulate discourse in politics, economy, and society we will publish the results of all final teams in a large publication. The winning teams of the Challenge will be highlighted once again with their solutions.
This year in October we will launch the next project of the Innnovate2030 format – Stay tuned to find out more about the next challenges: Register on our platform to receive the ekipa Newsletter.
