Sustainability transformation
GLS, a sustainability-focused bank, is committed to supporting projects aligned with strict sustainability criteria. While aiding customers meeting these standards is a core function, GLS seeks to expand its impact by providing advisory services to healthcare entities struggling with sustainability transformation.
This challenge specifically targets nursing homes, inpatient care facilities, and associated services.
Challenge and Key-Questions
Develop a comprehensive consulting concept for the sustainability transformation of healthcare players, including nursing homes, hospitals, and assisted living facilities. The primary objectives are to identify specific challenges in sustainability transformation, understand the essential needs of healthcare stakeholders, and develop a consulting framework aligning with GLS Bank's mission.
Step 1: Identifying Real Needs and Challenges:
Conduct a market analysis to pinpoint challenges in the sustainability transformation of nursing homes, hospitals, and related entities. Explore aspects along Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) criteria to assess sustainability:
- What challenges do nursing homes face in their sustainability transformation? Identify ESG aspects that are critical to assessing sustainability.
- Understand the real needs that drive healthcare organizations to initiate a sustainable transformation.
Step 2: Derivation of a Holistic Consulting Concept:
Based on the insights gained in the first step, develop a holistic consulting concept with which GLS can help its customers to successfully master the sustainability transformation:
- What is the general framework of the consulting concept - when does it start and when does it end?
- Which tools and assessment instruments can be used to implement and accelerate the sustainable transformation?
- Which partnerships and technologies can help to accompany and enable the sustainable transformation of these customers in the long term?
Goals and Outcome
The ultimate goal is to first identify the real needs and challenges of the named stakeholders during the sustainability transformation and to create a holistic consulting concept that can become a concrete offer from or together with GLS at the end of the project - including the second cooperation phase.
In addition to the prize money, a successful proof-of-concept development at the end of the challenge also opens up the possibility of further pilot projects or other forms of cooperation or commissioning. This depends on the solution provider and their needs. In addition, contact and cooperation with the existing GLS SME customer network can be established for pilot projects.
We therefore welcome the participation of startups, established companies, students and researchers who share our vision of transformative sustainability consulting.
