Innovating customer experience for long-term financial contracts

BHW Bausparkasse AG is one of the leading private building societies in Germany, with over three million customers and more than 3.7 million building savings contracts. Under the BHW brand, the company offers innovative solutions for building savings and home financing. The offerings include a wide range of services and award-winning building savings solutions to enable people to fulfill their dream of homeownership.

BHW sees its social responsibility in helping people own their own homes. To achieve this, the company will expand its range of services beyond purely building savings-related activities and broaden its product portfolio. At the same time, BHW is increasingly focusing on sustainable building investments and environmentally oriented building savings offers to contribute to CO² reduction.

BHW Bausparkasse AG is a subsidiary of Deutsche Bank AG. Since the merger with Deutsche Bank Bauspar AG in May 2019, BHW has combined the bundled knowledge and over 120 years of shared experience of two traditional companies. In addition to a larger distribution network, customers benefit from more comprehensive advice: not only online, but also in person.

The desired goal is to jointly design a solution that can be launched as an actual offering of BHW. If the Proof-of-Concept is successfully developed, there is the opportunity for a joint pilot project or different forms of cooperation or hiring depending on the team and the solution, in addition to the prize money.

Participation is therefore open to startups, companies, students, or researchers.

For the submission, it is sufficient to describe your idea or approach in the submission template and upload it via our platform. It doesn't have to be a fully developed concept with a concrete implementation strategy. A visualization of your approach ( e.g. a sketch, visual drafts or prototype) is beneficial – it should be as well developed as possible but appropriate to the time you have. Remember, there will be an elaboration phase for the finalists of this challenge, in which you will develop your submitted idea/approach.

Your participation is not binding until you submit the Submission Template, and the qualification phase ends. You can always withdraw your submission before the deadline. Once you have uploaded your submission and you want to take part, please consider the timeline and be aware that you should be able to participate in every further step.

After the end of the deadline (July 30), the submissions will be reviewed by the challenge provider. The final teams of every challenge will be selected and invited to participate in the digital Innovation Bootcamp of the Future Finance Innovation Program. We will inform you via mail.
