Sustainable Innovation on Digitized Construction and Mining Sites
Construction/Mining must become more efficient & sustainable! IoT and digital services for workers, machines & processes promise to help. Key is a stable, reliable, and independent network connection - ubiquitous connectivity - exactly what proves difficult on large construction/mining sites. Work together with Liebherr to build stable connection to cloud services without local cellular network connectivity using pre-existing devices.

Important key facts
Large construction sites have various construction/mining machines in use. This can be several dozens. The extension of such construction/mining sites can extend over several kilometers. Cranes are often used for building construction work. Likewise, there are logistics units such as trucks for transporting material and excavated material to and from the site. Also employees of the construction companies (with cell phones) are present.

Data Sets
All data sets were provided by the digital platform "AI for Good", who are co-initiators of the Innovate2030 program.
- Annual estimates for key information and communications technologies (ICT) indicators. ITU measures internet access across the globe twice a year using survey data. The main source of ITU data are national government entities, including telecommunication regulatory agencies, ICT ministries, and national statistics offices.
- Open City Model is an initiative to provide cityGML data for all the buildings in the United States. By using other open datasets in conjunction with our own code and algorithms it is our goal to provide 3D geometries for every US building.
