Solvation Science Student Challenge (S3C)
Together with RESOLV, explore how solvent molecules influence the selectivity of a reaction!
Take part in RESOLV’s mission to overcome the traditional view of solvent molecules as passive spectators and to consider them as active reactants instead. Use literature research, your knowledge and your creativity to derive a new model that is able to reliably predict the selectivity of a reaction and also takes the influence of the solvent into account.

What's in it for you?
The winning teams should not go home without a prize! Therefore, a total of €3,600 will be distributed. This amount will be divided among the three best teams or participants as follows:
- 1st place: €2,000
- 2nd place: €1,000
- 3rd place: €600
In addition, there are further exciting opportunities at the end of the Challenge!
For students, researchers and teams there might be, depending on the quality of the submission, exciting job and partnership opportunities to further develop the project together with RESOLV (internship, thesis, PhD etc.).
The winners and other promising teams will also receive access and an invitation to RESOLV's exclusive Summer School Solvation Science in summer 2022.
Depending on the quality of the submission, each participant will also receive a personalized certificate, which they can use for their CV.
