Submission Template
For the participation within the AI Innovation program, a common submission template is available. This template will help you to structure your ideas and approaches and to find answers to all relevant questions. The submission template is mandatory to submit.
In addition to this submission template, you will find specific requirements and guiding questions for this use case in the "Guiding Questions" section down below. Please consider also the tab "Important Details" where you can find a detailed description of the desired outcome as well as a list of further, supporting articles.
Dentons highly encourages participants to include a business model canvas as part of their applications as well as describe, when relevant, the areas of expertise and complementarities of their team members. Besides the submission template any additional file can be submitted - simply upload these documents along with the submission template via our platform.
Data Privacy
A stage-gate decision meeting with the finalists and Dentons will take place during the elaboration phase of the program. This meeting will be decisive for the participants to pursue the program and go to the finish line. As solutions presented by the participants should have reached a certain degree of maturity at that point, preferential rights to negotiate, purchase and/or license the ideas and the solutions, shall be then granted by the participants to Dentons by the end of a period of 12 months since the completion of the program, to pave the way for a solid collaboration beyond the ekipa program.
In addition to this legal procedure, please also note the joint data privacy notice with Dentons.
Guiding Questions
The following guiding questions are for your inspiration.
- Where can I find the most current content and existing regulations?
- How can I extract the relevant data based on natural language processing?
- How can the data source be continuously monitored so that new developments that are relevant for my business, sector, countries where I have operations, are always on my radar?
- How can I scan the horizon, i.e. scan the changes to come in regulation or new regulation?
- How can I summarize the relevant information/regulation/updates?
- How can I automatically categorize and leverage the metadata of the sources per relevance type, subject, sector, country, source, entity, chemical compounds, etc. either via API access or via web content scrapping.
- How can I evaluate the collected data, their relevance?
- How can I set-up an alert-system that allows to receive information/notifications on changes in the legislation or changes to come?
- How can I rely, or get a degree of trust in the data/information/summary provided?
- How can the user efficiently search/find/filter/categorize/tag the regulation/summaries?
- How can I deliver the solution? Is my solution viable from an operational and delivery perspective? A business model canvas can help modeling scenarios.
Criteria & guidelines
What’s there already?
Although not yet with direct applicability to ESG, Dentons is partnering and has already explored partnerships with third party providers to help the Firm and its clients to screen regulations in certain geographies. However, these solutions still have a significant manual input involved in the process, like checks and summaries of regulations and updates, making it labour intensive and expensive.
Dentons works as well on developing solutions internally by leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Natural Language Processing (NLP) engines such as GPT3 for translations, or Python script for web scrapping. Such projects are still considered at early stage though, and additional or different methodologies can have very valuable input to our current internal efforts.
