What is the IMPACT phase?

The best three teams and thus the winners of the Challenge will be invited to Samsung's own accelerator: the IMPACT phase.
There you will be supported by Samsung and its technologies, ekipa, technical coaching partners as well as external experts and mentors for 6 months to further develop your approaches and to make ideas reality.
The success story of the startup Heartucate, which made it through the first round of Solve for Tomorrow and the IMPACT phase, can be found at the following link on Samsung's global website.

Who were the winners of the first round of Solve for Tomorrow and the IMPACT phase?

Grapes: more computing power through edge computing

The international team at Grapes is using 5G technology to deliver more render power and infinite storage capacity for gaming and compute-intensive applications. To do this, they outsource all compute-intensive rendering of data to so-called "edge nodes," which are small, decentralized servers that take over compute-intensive processes to save battery and power on their own (mobile) devices. With this idea, even people who do not own the latest and most powerful hardware gain access to great computing power. "Solve for Tomorrow was the best experience we could have had. The program makes you feel like you're not alone. You get expert support to achieve your goal," Jaime, Mobin and Jithin say enthusiastically.

Heartucate: designing the classroom of the future

Young people are our future, and technology will dominate their lives. Heartucate is developing a platform that brings learning into the age of augmented reality and 5G. Through interactive learning adventures, kids and teens can independently explore new worlds and collaborate on tasks. Solve for Tomorrow accompanied them on the way to founding their own company and ensured a great media response. For the two founders Anna and Franziska, the support was a kind of accelerator: "The program was a great starting point for us - for what we hope will be a lifelong journey full of new experiences and developments."

hyperSpecs: 5G security systems for industry

A camera that can save lives - that was the idea of the hyperSpecs team. They use technology like AI and 5G to detect dangerous gases and toxic leaks, visualize when danger is present, and trigger an alarm in real time. Solve for Tomorrow guided the hyperSpecs team in developing their own prototype and launching a company last year. "The experience was super interesting and valuable for us. The program had a huge impact on the development of our prototype, which of course we are immensely proud of," says founder Diwaker Jha.
