New mobility with autonomous drones

Key aspects of sustainable consumption and production are the underlying supply chains and the transportation of goods. Work together with Bell to revolutionize current mobility solutions using autonomous drones and create smart solutions to supplement existing transportation models with more efficiency and sustainability.

To support you in your idea and team generation process, you have the opportunity to participate in one of our digital Design Thinking Workshop - register here or find more information here.

Submission Template

For the elaboration of the use cases within the Innovate 2030 project, a common submission template is available. This template will help you to structure your ideas and approaches and to find answers to all relevant questions.

DOWNLOAD SUBMISSION TEMPLATE

In addition to this submission template, you will find specific requirements and guiding questions for your Use Case in the "Guiding Questions" tab, which you need to consider when preparing your submission.

You can also complement your submission with prototypes, pitch decks, image and video materials, higher-level concepts, or specific use case-related instruments – simply submit these documents along with the submission template via our platform.

The goal is that through this approach (submission template, guiding questions and optional documents), solutions within the overall project can cover a broad spectrum: From concrete digital product ideas to higher-level visions.

Guiding questions

Innovativeness of your solution (why is the usage of drones special?)

  • What opportunities arise for the specific sub-areas if a drone takes over the transport instead of a helicopter or a lengthy transport by car or train?
  • Where can autonomous drones take over tasks and replace helicopters, thus saving costs and reducing the burden on the environment, making supply chain / logistics more sustainable?

Social and economic benefits (city infrastructure, societal benefits, wellbeing of citizens)

  • How does your solution contribute to the achievement of more sustainable models in logistics and supply chain?
  • Is your solution a long-term upper-level development concept, action plan or for local practical implementation?
  • What are the opportunities for logistics and supply chain that arise from the implementation of your solution?
  • What does a digital ecosystem of autonomous drones look like and what are the challenges for its construction and integration in supply chain?

Service Delivery (regulation, stakeholder, technical appropriateness)

  • Which partners in Europe are still needed for the different parts of the value chain and what is their core task?
  • What are the challenges for the development or operation of a transnational or European solution?
  • Which regulatory hurdles in Europe must be considered and, if necessary, optimized?
  • How do processes in a selected field impact the transport ecosystem in Europe? Are the specific regulatory requirements met?

Integration of your solution into existing (digital) infrastructure system

  • What challenges arise for the (digital) infrastructure of, for example a hospital or the city in which the solution is located?
  • How can a solution be integrated into existing infrastructure and what are the limitations?

Criteria & guidelines

At the beginning it is important to set the frames for your solution. Decide which type of solutions your answer is: is it a broad upper-level concept or commune-oriented action plan? Is it rather technical (i.e., a software for a hospital that allows control remotely the drone between the campuses) or methodological (i.e., optimization of existing logistic model etc.)?

Operationalize your solution: your solution must be measurable – define precisely how the value added of your solution can be measured

Please consider any legal / regulatory requirements that need to be considered. Especially, if these put a limitation on the capabilities of already existing solutions

Your solution should help reaching the twelfth SDG: create a more sustainable production and consumption
