Process
1. Application via Platform
Solution providers submit their application through the ekipa platform.
2. Get-to-Know Conversations
Short digital sessions (30–45 minutes) with selected providers to:
- clarify open questions about the test application
- discuss feasibility of the required scan rates within iOS and Android platform constraints
- align on a potential PoC direction
Before entering the conversation, Scheidt & Bachmann may ask providers to sign an NDA, at which point further context on the underlying innovation topic can be shared.
3. Kick-Off Workshop & Scoping
Shortlisted providers participate in a joint workshop (virtual or on-site) to:
- define PoC objectives and success criteria
- align on platform scope (iOS, Android, or both), beacon setup and test environment
- agree on scope, responsibilities and timeline
The outcome is a jointly agreed PoC setup.
4. PoC Building / Pilot
The PoC is executed in a controlled environment defined together with Scheidt & Bachmann.
Scheidt & Bachmann provides:
- BLE beacons and access to a test environment for field experimentation
- relevant technical documentation and context (subject to NDA)
- feedback from its own internal team, who will use the test application directly
The PoC focuses on:
- measuring and documenting the platform's true maximum and minimum (background) BLE sampling rates
- validating live RSSI visualization, beacon grouping and data recording/export
- assessing usability of the application for Scheidt & Bachmann's field experimentation
5. Rollout Evaluation & Next Steps
Based on PoC results, Scheidt & Bachmann evaluates:
- whether the technical approach is viable for the underlying innovation topic
- continuation into a co-development phase toward a production-ready Software Development Kit
- commercial model and scaling options
A successful PoC can directly lead to an extended co-development partnership.
