Goals & Outcome
Würth is looking for solutions that can ultimately be implemented in the next years, so a proof of concept (PoC) is the goal at the end of the challenge. However, please note that the process runs over 2 phases (see timeline). We do not require a fully functional and operational solution in the first phase.
Phase 1: Concept to first PoC
In the first phase of the challenge, participants are asked to (at-least) develop a profound concept - where a first (calculated) Proof-of-concept is a plus - do a market analysis & suggest market establishment plan: How can you justify that this approach is feasible and can work?
Phase 2: Detailed PoC & early Prototype
At this stage the approaches will be tested and elaborated in collaboration with Würth. For this purpose, simple prototypes should be developed to illustrate the approaches and support the argumentation basis. Further relevant background information should be considered: suitable funding programs & funding institutions; digital calculation tools & information modeling approaches as well as a risk analysis.
After the Challenge
Depending on the maturity of the solutions & participants, different cooperation models and hiring opportunities are offered by Würth. This could include co-creation to develop the technology & (research) collaborations or even joint market-entry.
Würth is happy to collaborate with start-ups, and there are various opportunities here, as a research partner or service provider.
Würth is also looking for young talents who want to join us full-time, as interns or working students. Furthermore, exciting thesis opportunities and support with materials and data for scientific papers are also possible.
In the Innolab area which offers space for collaboration and cooperation, collaborative projects can be completed via final theses.
Target Audience
This presents a unique opportunity for researchers, startups/companies, young professionals and students to showcase their innovative solutions and shape the future of sustainable facade fastening systems.
