Everyone ist invited to take part in the Quantum Climate Challenge. Excluded from the participation are solely the jury members and anyone involved in writing this challenge.
For the challenge there is a detailed challenge description. After successful registration you will have access to the following additional data files:
1. A file with the atmospheric data
2. Data for all the flights with a time, start and end position
3. Fuel consumption data and airplane specifics
For fairness reasons no questions will be answered outside the official Q&A sessions.
The in-person pitch in front of the judges is a requirement to be eligible win and receive price money. Not being part of this events means you can not win this challenge.
No. You are responsible to make travel arrangements by yourself suitable for your personal situation and location. Being a finalist and presenting your solution in Berlin means your team (or you as an individual) will end up among the TOP 5 winners and thus will receive at least 1000€. This money can be used to cover the travel costs. Please be aware that apart from the prize money you will NOT receive any additional money, even if your travel costs are higher than the prize money you’ll receive.
We are monitoring the pandemic situation and the according rules and guidelines given by the authorities closely. The event will be held following the rules and guidelines in place at the time of the event. Currently, we assume it will be possible to host an offline event in Berlin on May 20 installing e.g. a 2G+ hygienic concept. In case this will not be possible, we will switch to an online event and inform participants accordingly in advance.
To participate in this challenge, you need to quickly register on our platform first. After the registration you have the following participation options:

You know you want to participate as a team up but don’t have anyone in mind to participate with? Not a problem! Under the Tab Teams you will find an overview of all the teams who are searching for members. Request to join if your skills match what they are looking for and good luck! You can apply for more than one team until you find the right one.
Participate as a Team
You already have people you want to participate with? Great! One of you has to klick the button ’Join now’ and choose ‘Found your own team’. If you have already all the members you need, ignore the last question ‘What's the need of your team?’ in the Pop Up. If you are open to let new members in, fill it out so your team is open for requests.
The rest of the team has to register first themselves on the platform and then request to join the team you founded in the Tab ‘Teams’. It doesn’t matter which team member founds the team, every team member is equal and there is no leading position.
