Company - Who are we?
Bristol Myers Squibb is a global bio-pharmaceutical company dedicated to the discovery, development and use of innovative medicines that help patients overcome serious diseases.
Our patients and their needs are always the inspiration and motivation for our actions.
What is BMS' vision for the digital world of tomorrow?
Individualized, needs-based healthcare thanks to digital tools (electronic patient records, treatment pathways, patient surveys, etc.) that take patients' needs and preferences and use healthcare resources into account more efficiently.
As a pharmaceutical entrepreneur, we too want to use insights into digital and anonymized data - patient pathways, therapy regimens and therapy adherence - to better understand how our products are used, how they work and where there is potential for optimization in the mode of action, dosage form, medical assistance, etc., which we can then incorporate into future R&D, possible care concepts and partnerships.
What values are important when it comes to the digital future?
Digital self-determination, i.e., the sovereignty of the individual as to what who may do with his/her data; at the same time, digital solidarity, especially in the health care system, e.g., in the sense of anonymous provision of health data that helps improve the structures and products (drugs and remedies, medical devices, etc.) of health care.
What potential does BMS have to help shape a digital and sustainable future together with the digital generation?
Digital disruption is accelerating, and the opportunities in healthcare are exciting. As one of the largest biopharmaceutical companies in the world, our mission is to help patients fight their disease. This is our daily motivation.
At BMS we work to integrate innovative digital technologies into everything we do: From early drug discovery to the administration of drugs to patients. The use of digital innovations will be crucial in changing the success of therapy for patients, especially those with difficult-to-treat diseases.
BMS Germany also has a strong and reliable external network of national and local politicians, decision makers, and experts to help shape a sustainable healthcare system.
The Bristol-Myers Squibb Foundation has been involved for 60 years now with numerous projects for people with inadequate medical care. By working with nonprofit organizations, scientists and governments, the Foundation aims to contribute to more equitable health care and to improve the health of population groups that are disproportionately affected by serious illness. The Foundation's programs aim to reduce the burden of disease by providing patients with information about and access to healthcare. In addition, the capacities of the health care system are being expanded and health care workers are educated.
