Visual Intelligence and 3D-Modelling for next-level Retail
Collaborate with a leading multinational retail-group and leverage new technological advancements in visual intelligence to automate 3D-modelling. Transform the way retailers handle product imagery to enable faster and more accurate inventory management, improved customer experiences, and optimized supply chains.
For the roll-out of a scalable solution, there would be an adequate multi-million project budget available after the challenge.

Automated 3D-Models
The retail industry is on the brink of a digital revolution, and the next wave of innovation could soon be triggered.
Imagine a world where freight is calculated based on precise 3D models, inventory planning is made easier through virtual placement of multiple units into shelves/ mixed pallets, or store management and customer experiences come to life with stunning virtual mini-stores.
Until now the manual processes of creating 3D models are time-consuming, inefficient, and thus uneconomical.
The good news is that recent technological advancements, especially in (generative) AI and visual intelligence, have the potential to transform the way we process simple object photos and deliver next-level, automated solutions.
The Challenge
To fully leverage the benefits of automated image recognition a leading multinational retail group is seeking to collaborate with you and tackle the following challenge:
- Automated 3D-modelling: How can relevant 3D models be created automatically from object photos in retail, such as product packaging or bottles?
- Data Foundation: How can necessary object photos (and additional data for modelling, such as volume) be generated as automatically as possible and what would these photos need to look like?
More relevant input, examples, inspirational MVP-scenarios and criteria can be found in the tab “Requirements & Inspiration”.
The Goal
The ultimate target is to build holistic end-to-end use cases in retail e.g. in supply chain, store management or customer experience. To achieve this ambitious goal, the entire project follows a multi-step process.
First Submission: Submissions that target specific use-cases/ problems and that are laying the (technical) foundation to get to the holistic target in the long-run are sufficient.
End of the challenge: After the collaboration phase where you start working together with the challenge provider we aim at a jointly developed MVP (minimum viable product) meeting the challenge criteria.
After the challenge: Different forms of cooperation, partnerships or investments. For the roll-out of a scalable solution meeting all the described criteria, there would be an adequate multi-million project budget available.
