Goal
Doka is committed to innovating sustainable material solutions to replace steel and aluminum in its operations, aiming to meet the global demand of over 1 million floor props and more than 180,000 framed formwork elements produced annually. This substantial production capacity emphasizes the significant scaling potential, offering a unique opportunity to transform construction practices toward carbon neutrality by 2040.
Solution Development
Phase 1: Concept Proposal
Participants are encouraged to propose forward-thinking concepts that could substitute steel and aluminum in formwork applications. This phase focuses on identifying concepts that meet Doka's structural and environmental requirements.
Phase 2: PoC
In this phase, selected participants will collaborate closely with Doka to refine their concepts. This collaboration will involve tackling technical challenges, optimizing the proposed solutions, and developing prototypes or other tangible proofs of concepts to demonstrate feasibility and effectiveness.
Follow-up Collaboration
Doka offers the potential for significant business partnerships for solutions that align with their sustainability & performance goals. Successful innovations could be scaled across Doka's global product portfolio and lead to substantial commercialization opportunities, making it an attractive prospect for innovators aiming to achieve large-scale impact in the construction industry.
