In the qualification phase, Merck's main goal is to identify the most promising visions and visionaries. To make this possible, you should submit at least two documents:
- In the first document: Write down your approach, bring it to the point and explain how you would further develop your idea in the second phase with Merck
- In the second document: Introduce yourself and possibly your team members. Demonstrate why you are capable of delivering outstanding progress in the field of AI. You could for example use the following infos: Short introduction of you/your team members; University and Degree Course; Semester and NC; Further qualifications (internships, certificates etc.); or what ever else you thing is important!
- If needed: Support your submission with everything you want to: From more detailed concepts, explanations or mathematical equations to significant resources
Demanded by Merck are ideas and approaches which are
- based on unsupervised learning and
- inspired by the biological brain and
- explicitly worked out towards the problem of invariant representations and
- substantiated with facts from neurosciences, computational models, or pure mathematics and
- aimed at the given research calls and questions
Approaches that you should not follow
- Approaches that DO NOT deal with invariant representations
- Approaches based on supervised learning and state of the art deep learning
