Future of efficient Bio-PE
Currently, Essity's packaging is made from post-consumer recycled material (PCR) and partly from bio-polyethylene. However, bio-PE is currently still very cost-intensive and scarce in procurement. Therefore, this challenge is looking for alternative feedstock or materials for the bio-PE share, which are sustainable, recyclable and industrially feasible.

By participating in this challenge, you have the chance to win an attractive prize money. The winners of each challenge will receive EUR 4,000 and EUR 1,000 will be awarded to the second place. - Social Media prize

In the final event, one final team from the entire Future Materials Innovation Program will be honoured with the Social Media prize of EUR 500.

In order to give the developed solutions, the greatest possible appreciation and attention, all solutions of the final teams will be published in a joint paper of all initiators. - Exclusive events
If you are selected as one of the three final teams from the qualification phase, you will have exclusive access to our ekipa Innovation Bootcamp and Final Event. In these you will not only pitch your solution to a jury formed by representatives of Essity, but you also receive coaching sessions, listen to interesting keynote speakers and have the opportunity to network with representatives from businesses as well as other innovators. - Collaboration opportunities
There are further cooperation opportunities with Essity after the challenge is completed. Essity intends to provide promising teams with the opportunity to further develop their solutions. During the elaboration phase, the challenge finalists will work together with Essity on their approaches and discuss their interests in possible further steps after the program on an individual basis. Further collaboration and support may result and will be discussed at the end of the program.
