HCOB sees a huge potential to boost its shipping financing segment by digitizing business processes involving direct interaction with the customer or co-investors. In the following you can find the focus areas (numbered from 1 to 4) that should be digitized and be enriched through the platform,

Strategic Goal
The main user group of such a platform for shipping finance would be ship owners, project developers, infrastructure project developers, etc. on the one side but also co-investor for potential syndication.
The underlying goal is to scale market access - i.e. to broaden customer interaction/approach. A first target for the follow-up collaboration is to generate 5% of new business (€1.6 billion in 2022) via the platform and enrich it with supporting information.
Process
Note: Our aim is not to build a complete platform / holistic solution up-and-running during the challenge. The process to get there has several steps:
- Develop a suitable concept/ mockup that fits until the initial deadline - All information, requirements regarding your submission and how to submit can be found in the Submission tab.
- Discuss your concept and technical requirements/ details in an interview with HCOB.
- Pitch your solution at the final event to see if there is a basis for a long-term business partnership
- Build a platform/ prototype together and aligned with HCOB’s needs in a customer-client relationship after the challenge
